Fife Champion of Champions
Congratulations to Ally Hain winner of the Fife Champion of Champions event at Leven GC last weekend. Ally closed with a brilliant 66 to win the event.
Ally shot 75 in the morning round which was four over par and 7 shots back of the leader. Heavy rain in the afternoon didn't manage to stop him from shooting an awesome 66 to win it by one shot. Ryan White, Leven shot 68,74 to finish 2nd.
Well done from all at Ladybank GC on a great achievement.
This last couple of weeks, I've had a chance to play a bit of golf myself which has been great. Last week our Captain, Dr Bobby Robertson and myself were away playing at Haggs Castle in the PGA's Captain/Pro event that takes place annually. We were very lucky with the weather and it even looked for a while as if my shirt and tie might be required for the prize giving!
However, in the end our 67 (-5) was only good enough for 6th place out of the 48 teams, so a decent effort none the less and a great fun day was had.
Then it was on to an event run by Titleist down South. Titleist run an ambassadors programme where they have six Professionals in Scotland to represent their brand, 36 in total, in the UK and Ireland. I'm very lucky to be one of the chosen few.
So Paul Wytrazek, another ambassador and myself flew down to play The Berkshire, then onto a Titleist factory visit which was very enlightening, then finally a game at John O'Gaunt golf club in Cambridgeshire before returning home. It was a great few days away learning about a great brand and playing some very good golf courses.
This week my golf is at Pitlochry Golf Club in the Midland Alliance. Here's hoping for a good start to the winter golfing season in the Alliance!
Gregor is also away this weekend at Royal Dornoch playing in an Assistant Professionals event. Best of luck to him around a fantastic golf course. Let's hope the weather is favourable.
Saturday past saw a near wash out for our members competitions. We were very lucky the course drains so well or no play would have been possible at all due to the heavens opening for most of the day. However we do have some winners from the day. See results below.

The Hydrolite may not be quite as warm as the XP jacket but it offers great playability as it's a little lighter than the XP jacket. The Hydrolite Jackets come in at £120 (full-zip) and £115 (half-zip) respectively. The XP Jackets come in at £159 (full-zip) and £149 (half-zip) respectively.
