With The Open Championship being in town this week, coming after what is hopefully going to be a successful Scottish Open, the area really is buzzing.
In past years when The Open is at St Andrews we tend to be extremely busy with visitors for around a ten day period. This year is no different. With crowds of around 200K expected at The Open, many of these golf fans will want to play golf locally.
Fortunately Ladybank is a destination of choice and we are extremely busy, especially in the morning times. To accommodate the extra volume of golfers we have added 'early bird visitors times' from 7am- till 8am midweek 13th - 17th July. This is standard practice for ourselves, Crail, Lundin and Scotscraig Golf Clubs along with many other local venues. This really is the clubs chance to make some great extra revenue and it only comes along once every five years. All of us will hopefully manage a game of golf or two during the week I'm sure.
However a slight change to normal golfing times may be required. It might even prove beneficial to avoid the inevitable slightly slower pace of play (pre 2/3pm times) than we are fortunate to be accustomed to at Ladybank. We really appreciate your understanding and patience at this busy time.
The Open Championship prize draw in now in the Pro Shop at £2 per pick.
Saturday prize draw - after an excellent suggestion from a member, we will be doing a Saturday prize draw this week for a dozen Pro V1 golf balls. Tickets are only £1! Max 49 entries.
