Normally as I write a newsletter in October things are starting to tail off and calm down a bit at the club. However, as I write today`s Enewsletter things are busier than ever. Golf seems to be one of the safest things to do, therefore, its popularity has grown hugely in recent months since the pandemic broke out. With not many other things to do and working patterns changing our members are playing more golf than usual. Whilst visitors continue to come and play with little or no thought of travelling abroad on holiday. This has all had the effect of creating a much busier than usual tee sheet heading into autumn.
With the above in mind and to help everyone get their golf played in the best course conditions possible (for as long as possible) we have moved back our winter maintenance week till the week starting 26th of October. We hope this helps you enjoy the course into the autumn for as long as you can.
Happy golfing! |
Mental Health Awareness
It was great to see Bob McIntyre and various European Tour Players support a campaign regards mental health awareness. Please have a wee watch of the video below if you are feeling a wee bit below par. As Bob says “It’s ok to not be feeling ok”. |
However, the key is speaking to someone if your not feeling ok. So please get in touch with a friend or even pick up the phone to me or write in via email (sandy.smith@foremostgolf.com) I’ll call you back asap. Sometimes a problem shared is a problem halved and all that.
As we go through these tricky times we are all getting tested to our limits, it won’t just be you so please speak about it with someone. |

Golf's back on UK soil
When Sergio Garcia won The Masters in 2017, every headline was along the lines of ‘Finally!’. More than three years later, his win at the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship marks his first win since and prompted many similar headlines. Although, did you know both victories involved Sergio putting with his eyes shut at impact? On the European Tour, Tommy Fleetwood looked to cap the return of the big names at the Scottish Open, a Rolex Series event, with a victory. But fellow Englishman Aaron Rai upset the odds to beat Fleetwood in a playoff that saw Tommy miss from a couple of feet at the first playoff hole. Both storylines demonstrate the importance of putting well when the pressure's on. So, if you struggle with holing out or three-putt too many times due to poor distance control, send us a message below and we'll be happy to help.
