Cyprus Pro-Am
Last week Calum Wilson, myself and a couple of other friends played in Cyprus at Aphrodite Hills and Elea Golf in a three-round Pro-Am. It seems we brought Storm Ciara back with us! The week was hindered by terrible weather, so much so the last round was cancelled due to 50-60 mph winds. The other rounds we got battered by tornados, rain, thunder, lightning and wind! Not quite the warm-weather training camp I had intended to get myself and the team members going to start our golfing seasons!
That said we had a good fun trip and a lot of laughs on and off the golf courses. The top 3 places of the event were all taken by Russian sides who's handicaps seemed to be quite generous, maybe this shows it's a good thing that the new worldwide handicapping system is coming in November. With handicap systems varying in different countries, it should create a more level playing field going forward. Read on further in the newsletter for more information about this new change.
