Happy New Year!
First of all, I`d like to wish you a good New Year. I hope you keep happy, healthy and play some great golf too. I guess that would look like a pretty good new year to us all.
As your Pro, it’s important to me that our members are playing well, having fun on the golf course and importantly engaging with the club in a positive way. If you feel there is anything we can do to improve this then I`d like to be the first to hear. I`m always happy to get feedback and yours as a member is very important to us. You can use my email address sandy.smith@foremostgolf.com to give us that feedback on anything that might be under my control to improve.
2020 should be a very exciting year at Ladybank in a number of ways. Our Bunker Renovation/Redevelopment work bounds on at an excellent pace with the KimberGlen team now on hole 14 as I speak. So only holes 14, 15, 16 and 17 to complete before they are off-site and it’s down to us to get the finishing touches right to the bunkers. I’ll give more of an update next week and I`m sure Mike will have some more detail in his blog tomorrow.
For our juniors, there is going to be a bit of change hopefully for the better. Our coaching night is going to change to Thursday to separate kids golf days out a bit more during the week. Sunday golf and Monday coaching, we felt was a bit too close together. I`m also going to be playing a bigger role within the coaching of the kids to try and help move things along for the better.
Our juniors also have a brand NEW exciting event in 2020 called the `RACE TO FAIRMONT` this will involve teams of juniors playing in a multi-club event this year. The clubs involved will be Carnoustie, Crail, Scotscraig, Leven and ourselves. Adam will forward on more details through our junior email newsletters. Needless to say, the finale and climax will be at the Fairmont where the winners will be crowned.
This year we will also be hosting a girls golf hub coaching six-week course starting in April via Scottish Golf. Hopefully, this will help us get some more girl golfers engaged with the game at Ladybank. More details to follow soon.
We will have more details of fun things planned for other sections of the club in newsletters in the coming weeks.
