Fitting Testimonial from Roy Wicks "Hi Adam, reference my recent fitting with the PING G400,I found the experience most informative and enjoyable, your explanation of the performance between my existing driver and the G400 most interesting not least the extra 17 yards that I was getting with the G400, that not might seem a lot to some, but believe me when you are over 80 years every little counts, so thank you.
Kindest Regards, Roy Wicks." Why not see what you could gain from a custom fitting appointment here at Ladybank? Click here to get in touch for more details. |

Scratch Winter League Fixture against Earlsferry at Ladybank. The condition on the Saturday left us to think that the game wouldn't even be on, but I have to admit that the course was in amazing condition after the snow and the rain on the Saturday so I have to congratulate the green keeping staff for the way the course was presented for the match.
- Match One - Jim Imrie and Mark P. Johnston - Won 2 and 1.
- Match Two - Darren Guild and Kenny Rattray - Lost 3 and 2.
- Match Three - Barry Logan and Cameron Akers - Won 4 and 2.
- Match Four - Ryan Walsh and Craig McEwan - Won 7 and 5.
This could possibly be the last of the scratch fixtures as we had a cancelled match due to snow but I have been unable to get date set for it yet. If this is our last match I would like to thank everyone who played for the club in this year's Scratch Winter League its been good. Can I also thank the green keeping staff for the way they have presented the course. I would also like to thank Sandy and his team for keeping us well informed with everything that was happening on the course and also a massive thanks to Caroline and Will for keeping us well fed once we had played our matches. Thanks everyone. It was another good Winter League Campaign where one or two results would have made it a great campaign, always next year. Good luck to everyone in the new season... play well. Craig McEwan

59Club Awards Winner I have to admit at being really chuffed to have won the below award at the #59Club awards at The Old Course Hotel Resort and Spa. It’s great recognition for a lot of hard work last season. Well done to Adam Stott, Gregor Wright and Jim Meek who contributed enormously to the pro shop's sucess. Thanks to everyone at the club who helped us hugely too. A real team effort for sure. Caroline/Will and Colin were also nominated for awards, which is a great achievement too. I’m sure next time around it will be there turn to win. We were mixing in some great company with the likes of Gleneagles, The Belfry, Dubai Golf, Marriot Group, McDonald Group, Old Course Hotel and too many others to mention. So it was a real thrill to get three nominations for prizes for Ladybank Golf Club. |
Fairway Mats Mats are no longer in use. We will then revert to preferred lies as normal on closely mown areas. |

Rory finds his range
A month out from the Masters and Rory McIlroy admitted to playing some of his ‘best golf ever’ after securing a one-shot victory at the unofficial fifth major – The Players Championship. His game has been so close for a little while now and it was always a case of 'when' and not 'if' for the Northern Irishman. So, after struggling with his driver all-day on Saturday (hitting just four of 13 fairways - see it happens to the best, too), McIlroy snuck in some extra practice that evening and it paid dividends. Standing on the long par-4 18th tee with a one-shot lead on Sunday evening, Rory knew a par would be good enough to earn his first victory in a year. With water all the way down the left side, the wind blowing towards the hazard and a slight dogleg to contend with, McIlroy hit his 'Sunday best' and split the fairway down the middle on his way to carding an effortless par. Quiz time Rory McIlroy became only the second ever British player to win the Players Championship. Who was the other?
There are no prizes, simply for fun and a well-deserved pat on the back if you get it right.

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger A certain Tiger Woods failed to take advantage of the rules during his second round at TPC Sawgrass, as a quadruple-bogey seven at the iconic par-3 17th island green all but ended his hopes of a third Players title. After sinking his tee-shot short in the drink, Woods headed to the drop zone and repeated the feat once again. However, considering the left-back pin placement and the position in which Woods' first ball entered the water, it turned out he could have dropped on the walk-way to the green (essentially, the fringe) and been lining up a 30-foot putt for par rather than facing another tricky wedge shot over the drink. This is where knowing your rules can really make all the difference, so make sure you're clued up by taking a copy of the new Rules of Golf book from the club. |
With the return of more golf-friendly weather and the Masters just around the corner, the season is edging ever closer to getting underway. So, with that in mind, let us ask you a question: What are you doing differently to ensure 2019 is a better year on the course than 2018 was? |
We want you to challenge us Our team has years of experience in helping golfers improve their games, from custom fitting golfers into the best driver for their game to helping them escape the sand first-time, every time. Whatever part (or parts) of your game needs working on, we have the expertise to help you get better.
It all starts with a non-obligatory chat with a member of our team, which will help us understand your game better and the areas that need working on. From there, it's your decision as to what you want to do. To get the ball rolling, click on the button below and leave us a message. |
