Our FootJoy gents, ladies and junior shoes arrived in stock this week, with more to follow.
The new Pro V1 and V1x also arrived in store!
These are very good and improvements have been made on the previous models. Most notably the Pro V1x being much better in the wind, especially both cross wind and into the wind than the previous version. Quite appropriate for our weather! While it perhaps feels a bit more durable as does the Pro V1.
Give it a go yourself for our introductory offer of £10 a sleeve (available till Feb 15th 2017).
With not much golf on in the last week due to weather conditions, we continue to get geared up for the season ahead with new carpet tiles going in the Pro Shop and new signage going up as we await our new stock.
Lessons continue to be popular as many members look to improve their golf for the season ahead. Please check out our lesson offerings at www.sandysmithgolf.co.uk
Gregor has also been actively recruiting volunteers to help with our junior activities and I'm delighted to say he's been successful in getting several members to help out. Thanks so much for your help to those who have volunteered. It really will make a huge difference during the season ahead.
Ladybank GC Burns Supper
An 84-strong audience enjoyed a superb Burns Supper last Saturday night in the Clubhouse. After an efficiently-served traditional meal, members and guests were treated to an audio-visual Immortal Memory, crisply delivered by member
David Thomson, with a little assistance from
Rabbie Burns, aka
Lance Sloan, in an interview.
Bobby Robertson followed with an energetic Tam o' Shanter which was enthusiastically received, before
Jim Leishman had his audience in stitches with his Toast to the Lasses, filled with anecdotes and poetry. A witty reply was beautifully delivered by
Lynda Robertson.
The proceedings were chaired by
Bob Drummond, who inserted into proceedings a few recitations from
Charlie Todd's collection of poems, and guitar-accompanied songs of Burns were given by
Vicki Robertson to an appreciative audience. The Captain,
Brian McSkimming, who had already welcomed everybody, concluded the evening with a comprehensive vote of thanks.
The next Burns Supper is projected for two years hence - after the success of this one, tickets will be in great demand!
