As Spring is approaching, and with the new season almost upon us, many will be eager to get back on the golf course. With that in mind, the fixture list in April has a lot to offer with medals, qualifiers and club matches all to go ahead next month.

The PGA (Downie, Tassie, Glass & Fraser) offers separate qualifiers for all four categories, with the best 16 making the knockout stage in their respective category.

The Smith Anderson is also a qualifier, over 36 holes. As with the above competition, the top 16 will make it through to the knockout stage.

The LCL matches also make a welcome return with the club doing battle with Crail (h) on Sunday, 24 April, and Lundin Links (h) on Sunday, 1 May. 

These matches are played with a fourball better ball format. The club are always looking for players from all handicaps to participate. Any interested parties please add your name to the list on the noticeboard.

The midweek medal returns on Wednesday, 6 April and will be played every week throughout the summer, despite not being included in the club diary.

As you can see we have plenty of golf on offer, and we hope to see lots of members over the coming weeks.

If you are in need of a little help then I have sessions starting from only 15 mins in the shape of a swing check/repair, aiming to iron out any creases that may have crept in.

Callaway Titleist and Vokey club fitting

Lately we have seen a surge in fitting activity on our FlightScope launch monitor, looking at Titleist products and of course we can book you in at St Andrews for a Callaway fitting.

We already have several members proudly displaying the new wedges in their bags, and I'm sure with great results to follow. These really do look like amazing wedges.

With winter now disappearing, (hopefully), is it now time to get these clubs dusted down and get back out? We are already seeing a steady stream of our members return to the course which has been great.

Hopefully, many of you will be delighted by the condition of the greens, which have come out from winter in the best shape I can remember. This, along with a little less rough around than in previous years, means there is no better time to post a score. 

To further the good news, we are coming off the fairway mats on Monday, 20 March.
