Congratulations to Jack England who picked Bubba Watson for the Masters sweepstake run by the pro shop – winning a Callaway X2 Hot driver in the process! Very well played by Bubba around a firm and fast Augusta national course set up to punish any slight errors made. Bubba Watson proved his first Masters win was no fluke with a mature and at times majestic performance to clinch a second green jacket in 3 years.
The quirky left-hander with the wild swing has never had a lesson and plays what he calls "Bubba golf", a freewheeling brand of the game where he uses his imagination, talent and a sense of bravado to get around the course. Watson curves the ball at will, producing huge banana slices with that pink driver and hooks with his irons. His lanky frame and aggressive swing enable him to hit the ball prodigious distances. When his putter is on form, it is a potent combination. An example of this was on the signature par 5 13th where he hit a cut shot with his driver – 366 yards! - Leaving a pitching wedge into the green. This is essential for Augusta as over 50% of the holes require a draw off the tee for right handers and a fade for left handers, making it very comfortable for Bubba with his shot shaping abilities. Congratulations to Bubba on his second masters win in what was a thrilling first major of 2014.

We urge all members to check in at the proshop before teeing off, this allows us to check everyone in and account for who is out on the course. Members must also submit a request as to which tees they wish to play off, especially if they wish to play off the white tees.
The new 'trial policy' is policed through good old fashioned common sense and handicap bands, this also depends on the level of play around the course at that time as well as how busy the time of the booking is. This should allow us to ensure a steady pace of play on the course for the majority of the time and prevent slow play.
