The weekend past saw a remarkable turnaround, from snow covering the course last Thursday to this picture taken on the Saturday morning.
Quite an incredible change in fortunes really for our many golfers who took to the course on the weekend.
The covering of snow certainly didn't detract from playing conditions as there were many reports of the course being in excellent order. Please see results below from our Saturday competitions. That included Paul McGlynn matching the par, scratch and Nan Gray winning what was a close ladies winter merit.

The European Tour felt like it got underway last week with the event in Abu Dhabi. There have been a few changes out on tour since last season. None more so than the allowance of shorts on practice days by the players and a crack down on slow play. With Jordan Spieth in the field for his first European Tour event, it was interesting that he was one of the first to almost suffer from the new slow play ruling! With shots now at risk for serial offenders let's hope that the pace picks up and that these guys show the rest of us golfers that golf should be played in an sensible timeframe. Is this the last we see of the 5 hour plus rounds on tour? Let's hope so.
