This week has seen another cold snap that has limited the amount of golfers around, however there has been no rest for our industrious greens staff. They've been carrying on the good work clearing some areas of old dead broom and generally tidying areas off the beaten track. This should encourage a much better look to certain rough areas come the summer months as it will allow the fine fescue grasses to thrive in these areas.
On a personal front we have had Gregor and Jake along with our new recruit Scott Gillies at Callaway product training this week. Scott is joining us on a part time basis until his course in HND Professional Golf at Elmwood finishes in late May. Thereafter the plan is for him to join us as a Trainee Golf Professional.
I have been ordering Glenmuir ladies clothing this week. The arrival date is 15th March for the new range. I have hopefully taken much of our ladies feedback on board and made a better job of it than in the last couple of years. Along with the range of clothing, we will be having a ladies fashion day/lunch, among other events planned for our ladies in 2015. We plan to run the fashion lunch in conjunction with one of the busier ladies days at the club so everyone gets a chance to see the excellent range on offer from Glenmuir.
Later this week I'm off on my travels to The Belfry in the Midlands to tutor the next batch of first year Trainee Professionals in all things related to golf coaching. This is always good fun and helps to keep me up to date with all the latest coaching techniques and innovations that are around in the industry.
