With very heavy rain Saturday past, the course along with many others in the area had to remain closed all day. In many respects this actually turned out to be quite a good thing (you won`t hear me saying that too often) as we had a break in, quite literally, of cows onto our golf course. The said 16 cows managed to break through a fence out at the third hole and entered the course much to Gregor`s surprise, as he looked out the Pro Shop window to a herd of cows grazing beside the ninth green!!
This as you can imagine came as a bit of a shock to our very own cowboy Gregor who was then left with the task of finding the appropriatte farmer to encourage him to herd the cows back into the field. As you can appreciatte this wasn`t a five minute task so therefore apologise to anyone who was calling up to find out the state of play with the course. The phone in the Pro Shop was unmanned for a period of time as we tried to locate the said farmer and get the cows back into their usual grazing habitat. Thankfully after an hour or so Gregor came up trumps and helped the farmer get the cows back into the field.
Whilst there is some damage on the course our greens staff have done an excellent job in patching it up to a degree, so we hope it won`t disrupt your play too much in due course.

Looking for a GPS system to help lower your scores?
Most amateur golfers tend to come up short on many approach shots to greens, this can be down to in-decision or poor knowledge of how far each club carries. Utilising a GPS system will then provide you with Front/Middle/Back yardages on all holes as you play, allowing you to gauge how far each club carries. This will then allow you to consistently choose the correct club for your confronted yardage, reducing the chances of coming up short in a hazard etc.
