Well what a spell of weather we have been having until now! It's been a remarkable January so far with full greens, the gents January medal played, just, and plenty of members around the club. It's been great to see so much life about the place in the winter months. Let's all hope the weather holds out.
On a personal level the better weather has even encouraged me out to practice! After much thought I've decided to abandon my efforts to hit a fade and revert back to, what back in the day, was a relatively trusty draw. This hopefully won't take a lot of work but no doubt the fine tuning of it will, to get things to the standards I'm looking for.
It has always been my belief that good golf is about many key aspects but the backbone, as Connor Syme mentioned at his presentation, is good coaching and hard work. I'll be working hard with my coach over the coming weeks and even harder on the driving range in a bid to kick start this season better than I have done for many years.
Of course I wouldn't be doing my job properly if I didn't mention the fact that both myself, Gregor and Ryan are available to help you with your golf if you want to kick start things for the season ahead. Please give us a call or visit www.sandysmithgolf.co.uk for more details. We have a great variety of offerings available for every category of member regards golf coaching/fitting etc.
Last Sunday saw Connor Syme presented with Honorary membership at Ladybank Golf Club. There was a good turnout to see Connor getting his award and a questions and answers session with our Captain Dr Bobby Robertson. Connor now 20th in the world golf rankings put all his good play down to 'hard work during the winter months'. This is something I`m sure we all want to consider to improve our games for the coming season.
Well done to Connor on a well deserved achievement. Congratulations also to his very proud dad and good friend Stuart on coaching/mentoring Connor to such a high level with surely more to come.
