This week I was fortunate enough to be at The Renaissance Club at the product launch of the new Titleist 917 driver and fairway woods. Monday was filled with product testing, launch details and fitting training. Whilst on Tuesday we were lucky to get a great day out on the course.
It is a brilliant new product line with so much adjustability to help all levels of golfers.
It really is the most incredibly easy to use driver and of course with the right fitting of shaft, grip and head combination it is very long too. With the new Surefit CG setting and Surefit hosel the ability to lose any bad shot direction or to change trajectory is easier than ever before to help your golf.
My own particular bad shot is a pull hook left so I ended up personally with the D3 driver head to ensure there was no heel weight bias which encourages a left shot. The Surefit GC weight went to a fade setting and my loft went up to a 9.75 setting in the 10.5 head, rather than D2 9.5 previously. We also flattened the head by 0.75 degrees to also help the face point less left at impact. The diffence was very noticeable both in length and direction. It's very exciting times for Titleist going forward I think.
If you would like to try the product we will be one of the first in Scotland to have the new fitting cart. It arrives week commencing 21st of September so please book in a fitting any time from the 25th of September.
