With the season now well and truly underway, our opening medals being played in all sections, and with the Masters on this week, I hope you are all in good golfing spirits?
There has been some terrific scoring already this season, not least from Ian Watson who managed a -1 par 70 for a net 65 in our gents April medal. Ians' name sake, Diane Watson, put her own stamp on the ladies April medal with a net 76 beating the CSS by two strokes.
Big well done goes out to all of our competitors.
This week sees our opening mid week medal for our gents. These competitions will be played every (Wednesday) week now throughout the golfing season. The fixture in the diary will be stroke play and the omitted weeks fixture will be stableford. To enter, simply book a tee time as normal through the booking system, in maximum three balls. If anyone is unsure about finding a playing partner then please ask in the shop. We would be happy to help people team up to ensure everyone gets a game.
Our inter club matches, otherwise known as the LCL matches, now has a sheet on the main notice board looking for players who are keen to participate. This is an excellent opportunity to play games on other courses and with new people. We are always keen to get new names along so please feel free to put your name up and get involved.
Seniors Spring Outing at Dunkeld and Birnam GC
Our senior section again had a successful spring away day outing. This years outing took place at Dunkeld and Birnam GC on April fools day. There was certainly no fooling around with the weather as it decided to rain for most of the day and this led to a few slips and trips on the hilly terrain for most of us. Calum Anderson however, came off worst than most after helping cousin Dave Meldrum get his buggy out of a jam. A great advert for good waterproofs and even the waterproof bag though!
My playing partner for the day
Colin MacKintosh played some excellent golf and came away with the individual prize. Well done
Colin. I`m sure that handicap will be getting cut soon.
Thanks to everyone for coming along and making the day a success.
