Hello golfers, 

It's been great to see a number of members returning to dust off the clubs in the last couple of weeks. Most have been amazed at the quality of the conditioning of our course. After what seemed like weeks of rain the course is incredibly dry and in remarkable condition. I would urge you, if you haven't already to dust the clubs down and get along for a game. I can't remember the last time we were playing on the full greens for such a prolonged period in early February.


 

Course Improvements

This last week has seen more bunker renovation activity on holes 1-2 and 5. It has been necessary to close the odd hole to allow this work to commence in a timely fashion. 

We appreciate your ongoing understanding on this matter.


 

Ladies Competiton Result

Ladybank Ladies - Winter Merit 
First place went to D Watson (4) with 30 points. Second was C Mathers (21) on 29 points and third came MMB Robertson (19) with 27 points 

Mens February Medal Results
In first place in Division 1 came S Preston with a 79-11-68 one ahead of G Wilson's 74-5-69 and one further ahead of K Watson who took third place on c/b with 82-11-71. 

In Division 2 the winner was GR Lennie with 92-25-67. In scecond with a 89-21-68 was JD Dryburgh and in third was JC Pringle with an 87-15-72.


 

Growing the game in the local community...with Gregor Wright - PGA Professional

The last couple of weeks has seen visits to local schools to allow children to 'get into golf'. The schools visited have been Ladybank, Kingskettle and Freuchie Primary Schools, where I have taken classes between 10 and 20 pupils for 45 minute sessions. The children had lots of fun and so did I! My last session in the schools concludes next week, where we hope many of the children may be interested in joining the junior section.

    

'Spring Golf Classes'

Q and A Night with Martin Dempster, The Scotsman newspaper golf correspondant  
7 more tickets need to be sold!

With us looking to kick off our calendar of events early in the New Year. We have asked Martin Dempster to come along and do a Q and A evening at the club. This will take place on Friday, 26 February at 7.30 pm. Tickets will cost £15 and include a buffet supper. Book your spot today in the pro shop on payment. Any money raised over and above the price of our speaker and the food costs will be given to Cancer Research. We hope you all come along and support this evening as it should be very interesting listening to Martin's tales as a golf/sports correspondant with the Scotsman newspaper.   

N.B Our cut off point for ensuring this night goes ahead will be the 18th of February. 
We still require to sell at least 7 tickets to ensure we go ahead as planned.
